OF THE VILLAGE COUNCILOF NORTH PALM BEACH

Vice Mayor O'Meilia called the meeting to order at 9:46 p.m. All members of Council were
present except Mayor Norris, who was out of town. All members of staff were present.
EVALUATION FORM -ACTING VILLAGE MANAGER
Discussion was held concerning the evaluation of the Acting Village Manager. Consensus of
Council was to use the Department Head form as guidance only to evaluate Acting Village
Manager Doug Smith from February through the present. Each Councilman will meet privately
with Mr. Smith to discuss the evaluation. The Village Clerk's evaluations, as well as Mr.
Smith's evaluation score, will be discussed at a Special Meeting, which will be scheduled in the
near future.
TOYS FOR TOTS
Eddie D'Ambra and Ray Brady addressed the Village Council regarding the events which have
been planned for the Toys for Tots weekend at the North Palm Beach Country Club. Mr.
D'Ambra asked the Village to contribute to the event by providing insurance for skydivers, $500
for a foursome of golf in the tournament, a golf membership for 1 year (single), and police
overtime expenses. The council directed that specific costs be determined for all requests, and
brought back to the Council. This will be placed on the Regular Session agenda of October 23,
2003.
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE BID
This item was withdrawn from the agenda.
CELL PHONE POLICY
The Council discussed establishing a policy for the use of Village cell phones by Village
employees. Due to the lateness of the hour, the discussion will be continued at the next
• workshop of October 23, 2003.
