AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, CREATING A UNIFORM MAXIMUM PENALTY WHICH MAY BE
IMPOSED FOR ANY VIOLATION OF MUNICIPAL ORDINANCES, EXCEPT W}{ERE
EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED BY STATE LAW, BY MAKING THE PENALTY FOR
ALL OFFENSES AGAINST THE ORDINANCES A FINE NOT TO EXCEED
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS OR IMPRISONMENT NOT TO EXCEED SIX MONT}{S,
OR BOTH SUC}{ FINE AND IMPRISONMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORT}i PALM
BF,ACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 8 of Ordinance 215-70 is hereby
amended to read as follows;
"Section 8. That whenever in this ordinance or
in such Code an act is prohibited or is made or
declared to be unlawful or an offense or misdemeanor,
or whenever in this ordinance or in such Code the
doing of any act is required or the failure to do
any act is declared to be unlawful, the violation
of such provision of this ordinance or of such Code
shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five
hundred dollars, or by imprisonment for a term not
exceeding six months, or by both such fine and
ymprisonment in the discretion of the judge trying
the case. Each day any violation of such Code
shall continue shall constitute a separate offense."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect
January 2, 1977.
