12-29-2010 MT to JK re Admin Policy for collection of SSNJimmy:
Due to changes in Florida Statutes, it is necessary that we revise our administrative policy for the collection and dissemination of social security numbers.
Attached are the current policy and the revised policy. There are two changes:
1. Policy 1.6 on page 2 has been deleted – per F.S. 119.071(5), the referenced report is no longer required.
2. Pursuant to F.S. 119.071(5)(a)2.b, the written notice referenced in Policy 1.5 has been revised to identify the specific federal or state law governing the collection, use, or release
of social security numbers for each purpose for which the Village collects the social security number. Len Rubin reviewed the previous notice and provided the updated list of uses with
the corresponding authorized/mandatory statutory or regulatory references.
