Ordinance 1975-013 Fire Detection Systems in Hotels & MotelsORDINANCE N0, 13-75 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENllING CHAPTER 6 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, THE BUILDING CODE FOR THE VILLAGE, BY REQUIRING THE INSTALLATION OF FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS IN EXISTING HOTELS AND MOTELS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 1127 of Section 6-12 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "1127 - FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS Delete existing section and substitute the following: Every new dwelling and every new dwelling unit within a hotel, apartment house, condominium and townhouse and every basement or cellar within such building shall be provided with an approved listed detector, sensing visible or invisible particles or combustion, installed in accordance with the manufacturers recommendation and listing. When actuated the detector shall provide an audible alarm. Existing hotels and motels shall comply with this Section prior to twelve (12) months from date of this Ordinance." ' Section 2, This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage. PLACED ON FIRST READING THIS 28 DAY OF.
