Ordinance 1974-019 Limiting Types of Dogs & Cats as PetsORDINANCE N0. 19-74 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE BY LIMITING THE TYPES OF DOGS AND CATS WHICH MAY BE KEPT AS HOUSEHOLD PETS WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH TO THOSE DOGS AND CATS USUALLY KEPT AS HOUSEHOLD PETS AND ELIMINATING FROM THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH USUALLY WILD ANIMALS, WHETHER APPARENTLY DOMESTICATED OR NOT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That Section 4-1(2)(3) of the Village of North Palm Beach Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "(2) Dogs shall include any domesticated canine usually kept as household pets, but shall exclude all canines which usually remain wild (including, but not limited to, wolves, coyotes, etc.) even if such usually wild canines have become domesticated." "(3) Cats shall include any domesticated feline usually kept as household pets, but shall exclude all felines which usually remain wild (including, but not limited to, lions, tigers, pumas, cougars, leopards, jaguars, bob- cats, etc.) even if such usually wild felines have be- come domesticated." Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage. PLACED ON FIRST READING THIS 26 DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1974.
