Ordinance 1973-008 Cost of Impoundment of Dogs & CatsORDINANCE N0. 8-73
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PAIM BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE, BY SETTING
FORTH A MINIMUM COST FOR RETRIEVING A DOG OR CAT FROM IMPOUNDMENT, AND
BY CHANGING THE TIME DURING WHICH AN ANIMAL MAY BE IMPOUNDED UNDER
MUNICIPAL AUSPICES TO FORTY-EIGHT HOURS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PAIM BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 4-34(2) of the Village of North Palm Beach
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(2) Within forty-eight hours thereafter, the owner of such
d.og or cat may apply for its release, and such release shall
be granted providing the owner shall have paid whatever
fine may have been imposed by the municipal judge for the
violation of this Chapter, and providing the owner shall
also pay all expenses incurred in the capture, feeding and
care of such dog or cat during the period of its retention
by the village or under its authority, which shall be a
minimum of $10.00 to cover such expenses."
Section 2. Section 4-34(3) of the Village of North Palm Beacli
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(3) If the owner of the dog or cat shall not make application
for its release within forty-eight hours, or shall not pay the
charges and fines above referred to, then the director of
public safety will release such dog or cat to the Palm Beach
County Animal Rescue League."
