Ordinance 227 Amending Electrical Code by Setting Forth New Special Rules & Regulations for Electrical Services & FeedersORDINANCE N0, 227-71 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE ELECTRICAL CODE BY SETTING FORTH NEW SPECIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICES AND FEEDERS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEAC}i, FLORIDA: . Section 1. Chapter 13 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code is hereby amended by adding thereto Section 13-12 to read as follows: "Sec. 13-12, ti.v., 1Lf+LL1lJ---H11 SerVlee conauctors shall be encased in a UL approved raceway. This shall not apply to single family dwellings or primary cable on any building so long as these services are installed, operated and maintained by a public utility company or a communications company. They shall be required to submit a plot plan showing the secondary service layout. The raceway may be: (1) Galvanized or sheridized threaded conduit (2) Aluminum conduit (not approved when used as mast) (3) Electrical metallic tubing (4) Non-metallic raceways on load side of meter: (a) Non-metallic raceways shall be installed underground at a minimum depth of eighteen inches below grade, or in or under concrete slabs. They shall be installed in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations. A bonding conductor shall be installed in the raceway; the size of this conductor to be determined by Section 250-94(b), National Electrical Code. (b) Non-metallic raceways shall only be used below grade. All risers shall be galvanized or sheridized conduit or aluminum conduit. (c) When the voltage in non-metallic raceways exceeds 600 volts, the conduit ' shall be encased in two inches of concrete." Section 2. Section 22 (a) of Ordinance 805-62 of the City of West Palm Beach, adopted by reference by the Village of North Palm Beach in Ordinance No. 132-66, being entitled "Special Rules and Regulations for Services and Feeders" is hereby repealed and is replaced by new Section 13-12 set forth in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
