Ordinance 1971-008 Regulating Motor Vehicle & Bicycle Traffic in Public Parks & NPBCCORDINANCE N0. $-71 AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 25 OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH CODE BY REGULATING MOTOR VEHICLE AND BICYCLE TRAFFIC IN PUBLIC PARKS AND AT THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Section 1. That Chapter 25 of the Village of North Palm Beach Code is hereby amended by adding new sections to be numbered Section 25-35 and Section 25-36, which said sections shall read as follows: "Sec. 25-35. TRAFFIC---No person in any park in the Village of North Palm Beach or at the North Palm Beach Country Club shall: (1) State Motor Vehicle Laws Apply. Fail to comply with all applicable provisions of the state motor vehicles traffic laws in regard to equip- ment and operation of vehicles together with such regulations as are contained in this Code. (2) Enforcement of Traffic ReQUlations. Fail to obey all traffic officers and park employees, such persons being hereby authorized and instructed to direct traffic whenever and wherever needed in the parks and at the North Palm Beach Country Club and on the highways, streets or roads immediately adjacent thereto in accordance with the provisions of these regulations and such supplementary regulations as may be issued subsequently by the Director of Public Safety. (3) Obey Traffic Sifms. Fail to observe carefully all traffic signs indicating speed, direction, caution, stopping, or parking, and all others posted for proper control and to safeguard life and property. (4) Speed of Vehicles. Ride or drive a vehicle at a rate of speed exceeding five (5) miles per hour, except upon such roads as the Director of Public Safety may designate, by posted signs, for speedier travel. ' (5) Operation Confined to Roads. Drive any vehicle on any area except the paved park roads or parking areas, or such other areas as may on occasion be specifically designated as temporary parking areas by the Director of Public Safety. (6) Designed Parking Areas. Park a vehicle in other than an established or designated parking area, and such use shall be in accordance with the posted directions there at and with the instructions of any attendant who may be present. Sec. 25-36. BICYCLES---No person in any park in the Village of North Palm Beach or at the North Palm Beach Country Club shall: (1) Prohibited in certain areas. Ride a bicycle in any area where signs have been erected by order of the Director of Public Safety speci- fically prohibiting bicycles being ridden in that area. Wherever convenient bicycles should be ridden on paved vehicular roads or paths designated for that purpose. (2) Operation. Bicyclists shall at all times operate their machines with reasonable regard to the safety of others, signal all turns, pass to the right of any vehicle they are overtaking, and pass to the right of any vehicles they may be meeting."
