AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 206-70 BY AMENDING THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
RF,GISTRATION AND INOCULATION OF DOGS AND CATS WITHIN THE VILLAGE.
' W}{EREAS, all dogs and cats are required to have a license
issued by the County of Palm Beach, which County license can be
issued only after the animal has been properly inoculated against
rabies, and
WI{EREAS, to require Village residents to secure a second
license and pay a second fee would be inequitable and contrary
to the best interests of those residents of the Village of North
Palm Beach who own dogs and cats;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 7 of Ordinance No. 206-70 be, and
t}ie same is hereby, amended to read as follows:
"Section 7. Registration; Inoculation.
(1) No person owning or having the care, custody
or control of any dog or cat, more than six months
old, shall permit such dog or cat to be in the
Village unless it has been inoculated against rabies
within one year next preceding and unless such dog
or cat shall wear a currently valid license from
Palm Beach County.
(2) Failure to have a dog or cat properly
licensed shall result in an automatic fine of at
least ten dollars for each separate offense."
