Mayor Valente called the Budget Workshop Session to order at 7:00
p.m. All members of the Council were present. The Village
Manager and the Finance Director were present.
ROLL CALL
Council started with Public Services Sanitation Department. PUBLIC SERVICES
Initial conversation concerned the condition of Public Safety and
Public Service cars. Charley agreed that Car No. 57 would go to
the Code Enforcement Officer and Car No. 32 would also go to his
department. The old car 57 and 56 would. be auctioned off, as
probably would Car No. 41 and Car No. 802.
It was agreed not to collect garbage on Veterans's Day. GARBAGE
Overtime was raised to $11,100. This covers most of the OVERTIME
holidays.
Approval was given for the packer and the jitneys. PACKER & JITNEYS
Streets Department budget: East side alley wall proposal was STREETS DEPT.
cut. $500 was added to Account No. 35225 - Fences & Alleys.
$3,000 was set up in Account No. 52227 for a beautification
program. $1,000 was cut from Account No. 52222 -Trees and Sod.
Vehicle Maintenance budget: Account No. 35260 - Chemicals was VEHICLE
cut by $800. MAINTENANCE
Account No. 66210: $6,250 was approved for construction of two
shops.
Parks Department budget: Everything approved. PARKS DEPT.
Library Director's salary was increased to $24,000. It was also LIBRARY
agreed to raise Karen White's and the children's librarian
salaries within the parameters of this years budget.
Account No. 33490: Lawn Maintenance - $2,300 was put back in.
Account No. 39710: Printing & Binding - was cut to $3,620.
Recreation Director's salary was increased to $24,000. RECREATION
$20,000 was cut from the building addition proposal.
The Recreation Department van was added in at $13,000.
$3,000 was cut from the proposed VCR.
Under Public Events the Public Events line item was raised to PUBLIC EVENTS
$7,000 to cover the increased cost of fireworks.
$2,000 was added into the Capital Account for the purchase of a
backdrop for the Community Center stage.

From there the Council did sane slight reviewing of revenues.
' Another meeting will be held on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Members of the public were in attendance at this meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:53 p.m.
