MINUTES OF WORKSHOP SESSION
OF THE
VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
HELD
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1986
Present: Tom Valente, Mayor
Harriet Nolan, President Pro Tem
V. A. Marks, M. D., Councilman
Craig Mundt, Councilman
Raymond J. Howland, Village Manager
Herbert L. Gildan, Village Attorney
Absent: Al Moore, Vice Mayor
Dolores R. Walker, Village Clerk
Mayor Valente called the Workshop Session to order at 8:02 p.m.
All members of the Council were present except Vice Mayor Moore,
who was out of town. All members of the staff were present
except the Village Clerk.
A discussion was held concerning a proposed resolution requesting
that the Palm Beach County School Board revise current policy on
high school districts by designating one single high school which
all students who reside in the Village would attend. During the
discussion there was a tie vote on this resolution, with
President Pro Tem Nolan and Councilman Marks in favor, and Mayor
Valente and Councilman Mundt opposed. This item will be placed
on the workshop session agenda of February 27, 1986 when all
members of the Council will be present.
A discussion was held concerning a proposed resolution requesting
affirmative and immediate action by the State of Florida to
reduce mortality rates in the West Indian Manatee population. It
was the general consensus of the Village Council that they were
not interested in the resolution at this time.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the
meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
