Mayor Valente called the Workshop Session to order at 8:25 p.m. ROLL CALL
All members of the Council and staff were present.
The item concerning approval of a contract to hire Dana COUNTRY CLUB
Rapport as Country Club Tennis Pro at a salary of $6,600 per TENNIS PRO
year was withdrawn from the agenda because the staff requested
that they be allowed time for further investigation.
The Village Council discussed the purchase of a Stolting Ultra- POLYGRAPH PURCHASE
scribe Polygraph Unit in the amount of $2,750, the monies to DECLINED
be expended from the Public Safety Department Forfeiture Funds.
Mayor Valente, President Pro Tem Mundt and Councilman Moore
were opposed; therefore, this item was declined.
A discussion was held concerning the purchase of a Microfilm
Rollfilm Reader/Printer in the amount of $3,335 -- fora total
cost, including starting the microfilming of $5,400 -- the
monies to be expended from the Public Safety Department For-
feiture Funds. The Public Safety Department staff will go
out to bid on this item.
A discussion was held concerning a bid award for materials
and labor to install two light poles at Osborne Park. K & M
Electric is to be awarded the bid for eight fixtures in the
amount of $1,360. Southeastern Prestress is to be awarded
the bid for two poles in the amount of $2,256. C. R. Dunn,
Inc. is to be awarded the bid for installation of the two

A discussion was held concerning the award of bid to Carpet
Systems of Hialeah for carpeting in the lounge area of the
Country Club in the amount of $3,685; and for carpeting in
the dining room, gold room and lobby in the amount of $7,050,
the monies to be expended from Account No. 62.1-572-62.15
(Club Renovations). This item will appear on the regular
session agenda of January 26, 1984, and Steve Sandusky
is to report back to the Council with the reason why the
bid was not awarded to the lowest bidder.
' A discussion was held concerning accepting the Proposal of
Ron Oberg in the amount of $1,614 for labor to hang wall-
paper in several areas throughout the Country Club, the
monies to be expended from Account No. 62.1-572-62.15
(Club Renovations). This item will appear on the regular
session agenda of January 26, 1984.

A discussion was held concerning free membership for Village
employees at the North Palm Beach Library. This item will appear
on the regular session agenda of January 26, 1984.
A discussion was held concerning authorizing the Village Clerk
t to go out to bid fora Word Processor for the Village Clerk's
office on a lease-purchase basis. The Clerk was authorized
to do so and this item will appear on the workshop session
agenda of February 9, 1984.
A discussion was held concerning authorizing additional funding
for renovations to the Seacoast Garage on the Marina access road
in the amount of $4,300 to be expended from-the Council Contingency
Account for our Paramedics' headquarters. This item will appear
on the regular session agenda of January 26, 1984 if we have a
lease for this building fora period of more than one year.
A discussion was held concerning a Sick Leave Pool for Village
employees. This item will appear on the regular session agenda
of January 26, 1984.
A discussion was held concerning setting up a meeting with the
PBA on January 30, 1984 to discuss changes in the Fire/Police
pension ordinance. It was the general consensus of the Council
that this meeting should be postponed until after the March 13,
1984 Village Election.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the
meeting was adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
