Mayor Marks called the Workshop Session to order at 8:15 p.m. ROLL CALL
All manbers of the Council and Staff were present.
A discussion was held concerning Coimcilmax- Brown's proposed
Resolution which denies the use of Village recreational
facilities to those organizations who became involved in
political activities in Village elections. After discussion,
it was the consensus of the Council to withdraw this item.

A discussion was held concerning the tax base for the fiscal TAX BASE FOR
year 1981-82. It was the consensus of the Council that the FISCAL YFAR
Village Manager should take under advisement preparing the
budget without the 8.75 per cent utility tax, and if additional
monies are needed, raise the ad valorem tax.
A discussion was held concerning docking of house barges in the HOUSE BARGE'S IN
Village. It was the consensus of the Council to have Ray Howland, THE VILLAGE
Village Manager, check further into this item and report back to
the Council regarding regulations as to size.
Discussion was held concerning Village police protection at POLICE PROTECi'ION
John D. MacArthur Park. It was the consensus of the Council for JOHN D. MacARTINR
Ray Howland, Village Manager, to draft a letter to John Dance, PARK
Palm Beach County Recreation Department, (copy being sent to
the County Camdssicners) reference protection and security at
the park.
Councilman Broom furnished details of the second meeting of the
Conservation Board held April 3, 1981. Included in these details
was inforniation regarding Channel 2's plans for a thirty minute
doc~ltary film of the park. Councilman Birowrt reported an
inventory being taken of the plant life and food chain. He also
stated that four architects, selected fran a group, have been
asked to make a presentation to the full Board on the 13th and 14th
of July, in Chicago. Councilman Brawn advised the Council he would
furnish them with a copy of the minutes of this meeting as soon as
they are received.
There being no further business to cane before the Council, the
meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
