A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING
THE VILLAGE CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD ON MARCH 8, 2005; NAMING THE TIME AND PLACE WHERE SUCH ELECTION
SHALL BE HELD; DECLARING THE OFFICES TO BE FILLED AT SUCH ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the Charter of the Village provides for a General Election to be held on the second
Tuesday in March, 2005;
WHEREAS, there are two offices to be filled at the General Election to be held in the Village on the
second Tuesday in March, 2005;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That a General Election shall be held, and is hereby declared to be held in the Village of
North Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the
8th day of March, 2005, for the purpose of electing members to the Village Council to fill such offices
in Groups 2 and 4 for a period of two years each.
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to cause a notice of said election to be
published in the Palm Beach Post at least fifteen days prior to said election. Said notice shall be
substantially in the following form:

TO ALL QUALIFIED ELECTORS
RESIDING IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA:
By order of the Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, notice is hereby given that
a General Election will be held in said Village on the 8th day of March, 2005, for the purpose of
electing councilmen for the following offices, to wit:
Village Councilman, Group 2 (2-year term)
Village Councilman, Group 4 (2-year term)
Said election will be held in the Village of North Palm Beach, and the polling places are designated as
North Palm Beach Community Center, Precincts 1146, 1158, and 1166; Faith Lutheran Church,
Precinct 1154; Council Chambers of the Village Hall, Precinct 1168; Old Port Cove Recreation Room
between the North and South Quay Buildings, Precinct 1152; Anchorage Activities Building, Precinct
1186; and North Palm Beach Country Club, Precincts 1148 and 1150. The polls will be open in the
voting places from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Section 3. The following inspectors, deputies and clerks have been designated and appointed by
the Village Council for the purpose of conducting said election:

The above officials have also been designated and appointed by the Village Council for the
purpose of conducting the special Runoff Election to be held on the fourth Tuesday in March, 2005 if
one becomes necessary.
Said officers are hereby directed to hold said election in accordance with the law and in such
manner as to prevent all fraud, deceit and abuse therein or thereto, and to make the returns of said
election in the manner prescribed by law.
Section 4. The offices for which said candidates shall be elected at the General Election are:
Village Councilman, Group 2 (2-year term)
Village Councilman, Group 4 (2-year term)
Section 5. The Village Clerk and election officials are hereby directed to arrange for the use of
voting machines at said General Election, and the form of the ballot shall be such as is consistent with
the use of voting machines. Absentee ballots shall be arranged for by the Village Clerk in a form
consistent with general law.
Section 6. The Village Council hereby designates the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections
for the purpose of canvassing absentee ballots and election returns on behalf of the Village of North
Palm Beach, and designates the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections or his designee, as the
Village's representative for the Logic and Accuracy testing of the tabulating equipment on
February 18, 2005 and the Logic and Accuracy testing for the runoff election, should there be one.
Section 7. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage.
