A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE VILLAGE CLERK TO
PUBLISH THE NOTICE OF THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
MARCH 9, 2010; NAMING THE TIME AND PLACE WHERE SUCH
ELECTION SHALL BE HELD; DECLARING THE OFFICES TO BE FILLED
AT SUCH ELECTION; REQUESTING THAT THE PALM BEACH COUNTY
SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS CONDUCT THE ELECTION AND
DELEGATING CERTAIN DUTIES TO THE SUPERVISOR; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Charter of the Village provides for a General Election to be held on the second
Tuesday in March, 2010; and
WHEREAS, there are three offices to be filled at the General Election to beheld in the Village on
the second Tuesday in March, 2010.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE
OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. That a General Election shall be held, and is hereby declared to be held in the
Village of North Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and
7:00 p.m. on the 9th day of March, 2010, for the purpose of electing members to the Village
Council to fill such offices in Groups 1, 3, and 5 for a period of two years each.
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to cause a notice of said election
to be published in the Palm Beach Post at least fifteen days prior to said election. Said notice
shall be substantially in the following form:

TO ALL QUALIFIED ELECTORS
RESIDING IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA:
By order of the Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, notice is hereby
given that a General Election will be held in said Village on the 9th day of March, 2010, for the
purpose of electing councilmen for the following oi~ices, to wit:
Village Councilman, Group 1 (2-year term)
Village Councilman, Group 3 (2-year term)
Village Councilman, Group 5 (2-year term)
Said election will be held in the Village of North Palm Beach, and the polling places are designated
as North Palm Beach Community Center, Precincts 1146, 1147, 1155, 1158, and 1166;
North Palm Beach Country Club, Precincts 1148, 1150, 1151; Old Port Cove Recreation Room
between the North and South Quay Buildings, Precinct 1152; Faith Lutheran Church, Precinct 1154;
Village Hall Council Chambers, Precinct 1168; and Anchorage Activities Building, Precinct 1186.
The polls will be open in the voting places from 7:00 a.m. unti17:00 p.m.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, should the polling locations change subsequent to the adoption of
this Resolution, the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise the correct
locations in the notice without the necessity of amending this Resolution.
Section 3. The offices for which said candidates shall be elected at the General Election are:
Village Councilman, Group 1 (2-year term)
Village Councilman, Group 3 (2-year term)
Village Councilman, Group 5 (2-year term)
Section 4. The Village Clerk and election officials are hereby directed to arrange for the use
of voting machines at said General Election, and the form of the ballot shall be such as is
consistent with the use of voting machines. The Village Clerk shall coordinate and arrange for
ballots, including absentee ballots, with the Supervisor of Elections.
Section 5. The Village Council hereby requests that the Palm Beach County Supervisor of
Elections conduct the Village's General Election, including runoffs as necessary. The Supervisor
of Elections shall conduct a Logic and Accuracy test for the tabulation of all ballots, including
absentee ballots, and the Village Clerk shall be present during such testing. The Village Council
hereby authorizes the Supervisor of Elections to tabulate and canvass all ballots cast during the
General Election, including runoffs. Should it be necessary to convene a canvassing board, the
Village Council hereby appoints the Supervisor of Elections to serve as a member of such board,
along with the Village Clerk and Village Attorney.
Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
