A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACfi,
FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A POLICY FOR ISSUANCE BY VILLAGE STAFF OF AN
INFORMATIONAL REPORT ON A MONTHLY BASIS TO THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE
COUNCIL OUTLINING VACANCIES IN EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS WITHIN THE VILLAGE,
WHICH POLICY IS ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT "A" AND MADE PART OF THIS RESOLUTION;

CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BL' 1'I' RF,SOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Florida, does hereby establish
a policy for issuance by Village Staff of an informational report on a monthly basis to the Mayor and
Village Council outlining vacancies in employment positions within the Village, which policy is
attached as Exhibit "A" and made part of this resolution.
Section 2. Resolution No: 11-92 and Resolution No. 37-93 of the Village and all other resolutions
or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.

POSITION VACANCY REPORTING POLICY
1. The purpose of this position vacancy reporting policy is to replace the hiring freeze
policy adopted in March, 1992. The purpose of the Position Vacancy Report is to
update Council on vacancies created among the different departments and keep them
informed as to turnover rates in those departments.
2. A summary report known as the Position Vacancy Report will be developed on a
quarterly basis starting January 1, 2002 with the first report being submitted at the
end of that quarter (March 30, 2002).
3. No action will be taken by the Council regarding the information on the quarterly
report. The report will be treated as a report for information purposes only and
submitted to the Council through normal distribution.
4. In the event a Council member cares to discuss a particular vacancy or perceives a
problem in turnover as a result of the information on the report, then that Council
member may request that the item be placed on the next available agenda for
discussion action.
5. The Position Vacancy Report format is attached as Appendix "A".
6. The lead department head responsible for consolidating the turnover rates and the
vacancy information will be the Assistant Village Manager/Personnel Officer. Each
department head will be responsible to report the information to the Assistant Village
Manager in a format to be determined.
