A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING KAREN MARCUS AS THE
VILLAGE'S REPRESENTATIVE TO THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE
SEACOAST UTILITY AUTHORITY; PROVIDING THAT COMPENSATION
DESIGNATED BY THE BOARD SHALL BE PAYABLE TO THE VILLAGE;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the Governing Board of the Seacoast Utility Authority by reason of
the resignation of Village Manager Andrew D. Lukasik, who served as the Village's representative
on the Board; and
WHEREAS, Paragraph 2(C) of the Interlocal Agreement establishing the Seacoast Utility Authority
provides that Board Members shall serve, unless earlier removed, terms of four (4) years in duration or
until such time as the Authority's Governing Board Member's replacement has been appointed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby appoints Village resident and former County
Commissioner Karen Marcus as the Village's representative on the Governing Board of the Seacoast
Utility Authority.
Section 3. Karen Marcus shall serve as the Village representative to the Seacoast Utility
Authority until such time as the Village Council appoints a replacement.
Section 4. All compensation designated by the Governing Board of the Seacoast Utility Authority
for the Village's representative shall be payable directly to the Village.
Section 5. All resolutions or parts of resolution in conflict with this Resolution are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 6. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 14TH DAY OF JULY, 2022.
