1991-20 Supporting Adjustments to the 1990 CensusRESOLUTION NO. QO-91.
' A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA, STRONGLY SUPPORTING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE 1990 CENSUS
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Department of Commerce published a request
for comments on adjustments to the 1990 census in the 24 May
1991 Federal Register; and
WHEREAS, the Village has filed comments with the Census
Bureau's Count Question Resolution Center challenging the
1990 Census published block counts and has been assigned case
number 09100531; and
WHEREAS, an incorrect and lower census population figure
will adversely impact the Village economically in reduced
revenue sharing funds from the State of Florida and in
' reduced eligibility and funding for matching grants; and
WHEREAS, the census figures must be accurate inasmuch as
they are required by statutes to be used for fairly
realigning Congressional, state, county and school district
boundaries;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of North Palm Beach,
Florida, hereby goes on record as strongly supporting the
adjustment of the 1990 Census city, county and state counts.
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to
furnish copies of this Resolution to our U.S. Senators and
our U.S. Congressman, the Department of Commerce
' Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, the House of
Representatives Subcommittee on Census and Populations and
the Bureau of Census Decennial Planning Division.

immediately upon passage.
