NORTH PALM BEACH --
'Me village council launched
a statewide, search Tuesday
to find a replacement for
former Village Manager
Dennis Redmond.
The hunt is expected to
take about 90 days, and the
position will be advertised in
statewide newsletter and
publications.
Wellington -based Colin
Baenziger & Assoc. has'
agreed to conduct the
search for free. The firm was
hired by the village last year
to help replace former Vil-
lage Manager Dennis Kelly,
who held the position before
Redmond.
Redmond was ultimately
hired, and the firm guaran-
teed his -employment for at
least a year.
Redmond, who made*
$105,000 annually, resigned
July 19 after only, eight
months on the job.
During a special meeting
held Tuesday to discuss his
replacement, Colin Baen-
ziger presented the council
with a list of eight candi-
dates, including Kris Garri-
son, the Palm Beach County
School District's planning di-
rector; and Franklin Scho-
field, Wellington's communi-
ty services director.
But most council mem-
bers favored a state search,
saying it might turn up a
larger list.
. Mayor Don Noel, howev-
er, was hoping for a more ac-
celerated selection process.
"I really don't want to go
through 90 daysof looking,"
Noel said.. 'We've got a lot
of stuff going on. I don't
want to go through another
90 days of no village
manager."
