b4.r. Allen was born in a state with
an Indian name: Mississippi. He was
educated in a county with an Indian
name: Tuscaloosa. The graduate school
of his choice was in Tallahassee.
Quana, his sister, was remed after the
noted Comanche leader, Qua ne Parker.
From early childhood, Mr. Allen
has been an avid student of Indian
lore. For the past five years he has
been a student of the Seminole Indi-
ans. He has a working knowledge of
all Seminole reservations and was a
resident of the Everglades fora year.
Our speaker is degreed in Art and
Art Education. He is head of the Art
Department at Palm Beach High School.
Walter Lee Allen was winner of the
Four Arts Show on December, 1969.
We would like to thank Mr. Allen
for providing us with the opportun-
ity to hear him speak tonight, on
the topic, "Trail of Sorrows --With
Us Still?,:
