A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING COSTS AND CHARGES FOR SE-
CURING COPIES OF VILLAGE DOCUMENTS AND PAPERS AND FOR THE
USE OF VILLAGE PERSONNEL IN REVIEWING TAPE RECORDINGS, ETC.

WHEREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach has determined that the
public is entitled to receive copies of .all village papers and documents;
and
WHEREAS, the Village of North Patm Beach has determined that the
public is entitled to listen to tapes of Viilage meetings and to receive
transcripts thereof; and
WHEREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach has determined that there
is a substantial cost in providing these services and .copies to the public,
which should be borne by the persons requesting such information, rather
than by the Village citizens at large, since the number of persons who re-
quire the information are a minute portion of the Village population and
the costs involved can be substantial;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH

PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village of North Palm Beach shall provide the
documents and information set forth below for the appropriate costs set
forth. below, to-wit:
(1) Copy of complete Village Code - $100.00;
(2) Copy of a Village Budget - $25.00;
(3) Photocopies of any document, other that as set forth above -

(4) Cost of requiring Village personnel to research documents
requested by the public - $1.00 per page;
(5) Cost of preparing a Transcript of a Village tape - $7.50

per hour, with a minimum of $7.50. For each hour, or portion of an hour
thereafter, an additional $7.50.
(5) For use of Village employees' time to supervise and pro-
tect Village tape while a member of the public is listening to such -
$7.50 per hour, with a minimum of $7.50. For each hour, or portion of
an hour thereafter, an additional $7.50.

The Village has employed persons to provide normal services
required of the Village government. To the extent that personnel is
required to assist the general public and not to provide services
directly to the Village government, the time lost to the Village govern-
' ment must be replenished, either at overtime or through the hiring of
additional part-time personnel, and the costs described above are rea-
sonably calculated to reimburse the Village for the added expenses thus
incurred. It is the intention of the Village Council that a reasonable
amount of time be provided to Village residents, at no cost, to secure
Items 4 and 6 above provided that such reasonable time is coordinated
with the Village employee who must provide the information.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
passage.
