make the same mistake older
cities in the county have made.
He used West Palm Beach as
an example and said they have
no beach. Their residents must
use Riviera Beach, Palm Beach
or Lake Worth for a recreation
area. "People come to West
Palm Beach,,, Cunningham
said, "and they ask, `where is
your beach?' "
He then reviewed the suc-
cessful development of Lake
Park and North Palm Beach,
"two well developed communi-
ties." lie pointed to the National
Association of Home guilders
award to North Palm Beach as
winning their "National Award
of Merit,,' the first Florida
community to receive such an
a w a r d. He said this award
meant one thing to the residents
living there: "That in the opin-
ion of the nation's Fading au-
thorities, the Village of North'
Palm Beach offers the highest
possible standard of community
living."
