cil organized Friday.
Richard E. Ross was named
vice mayor, John A. Schwencke,
treasurer and tax assessor; Jay
H. White, tax collector; Robert,
C. Tufford, clerk.
The council passe.d ordinances
granting franchiseg'to the Florida
Power and Light Co., for elec-
tricity and the North Palm Beach
Utilities - Co. for - water and sew-
erage, took action necessary to
obtain the town's share of state,
cigaret tax revenue, adopted a
criminal code a n d established
rules for council proceedings.
A resolution welcomed t h e
Pratt & Whitney jet engine plant
to Palm Beach County.
.The council met at the North
Palm Beach Country Club club-
house, which will serve as a vil-
lage hall until completion of the
new hall on US 1 at Anchorage
