Happy 40th Birthday NPB from the Sculpture Committee 1996HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY
"Dead Trees Become Living Monuments" NORTH PALM BEACH
®n January 21, 1994, an Arbor Day ceremony
held at Lakeside Park brought Councilman and From
former Mayor, Judy M. Pierman and residents,
Ray and Joyce Lilly, together. An idea was soon the
to become a reality...
Dead trees were to be turned into living Sculpture Committee
monuments.
Sam Golden soon became a part of the group,
helping to install the bronze plaques.
From each dead tree, the artists gave life to a
Judy M. Piernlan
uniquely sculpted aquatic creature, which serves
as a memorial for those whose names are found
Ray Lilly
on the plaques.
Joyce Lilly
Thanks to the caring and nurturing of Ray and
Joyce Lilly and Sam Golden, the community will
long be able to enjoy the Lakeside Park
Sam Golden
sculptures.
Barbara Golden
Therefore, on the occasion of its 40th Birthday,
we proudly dedicate the sculptures to the Village
Dolores Kurtz
of North Palm Beach.
