This photograph was glued to a piece of thick paper; the glue was damaging the
photograph, so I removed it. Although the photo is torn and there is paper stuck to the
back, it is now preserved in an archival sleeve.
Typewritten on the back of the original paper was the following paragraph:
The 10 acre site for the $285,000 building was donated by the principals of North Palm
Beach Properties, Inc., H.A. Ross, Richard E. Ross, John A. Schwencke, and Jay N.
White. Left to right are: Robert R. Horner, Board of Public Instruction; Ralph Kettler,
BPI vice-chairman; Henry O. Earwood, BPI chairman; Elizabeth S. Hand, BPI; Edgar S.
Wortman, BPI architect; Howell L. Watkins, superintendent of schools; Alan J. Hunter,
contractor; Richard E. Ross, NPB Mayor, with shovel; Jay H. White, NPB vice -mayor;
H.A. Ross, NPB councilman; John H. Schwencke, NPB councilman; Charles A.
Cunningham, NPB councilman; Albin R. Olson, NPB village manager.
