ground for a $90,000 twin addition to
the North Palm Beach Village Hall
Wednesday, Aug: 7, as the highlight of
her week in Palm Beach County.
M i s s Jan Minnich, 17 -year-old
beauty from Martinsburg, Wo Va., will
toss earth for the groundbreaking at
11:15 a®m, that day in the rear of the
Village Hall, in the presence of village
off ici.als.
At noon on that day she will be
honored at a luncheon in the dining
room of the North Palm Beach Country
Club., owned by the village. Mayor Tom
Lewis will give her a key to the village
and name her honorary mayor for that
day.
Miss Minnich was crowned queen
during the Shenandoah Valley Annual
Apple Festival in Winchester, Va., and
she will be the guest of Frank
Williams, vice president and general
manager of the Holiday Inns of Palm
Beach during the week.
This will be the 12th year a Miss
Apple Blossom has been a guest of the
Holiday inns, and plans are in the
works to have her meet golfing greats
and other notables who make their
homes in the Palm Beaches.
Miss Minnich, who will enter West
Virginia University in the fall, will ar-
rive Monday with her mother, Mrs.
Albert Minnich.

August 7 as "Jan Minnich Day" by
a proclamation which says Miss Min-
nich "exemplifies the true vibrant
attributes of today's youth. of America."
The proclamation also termed Norte
Palm Beach "the best place to live
under the sun" and declares that im-
pression will "remain long in hez
memory."

The Village Hall additions are being
built by the W. G. Lassiter Construction
Co. during a 120 -day working period.
The South Wing will, include a two -
bay fire station and police department
complex, and will have space for a
new fire engine expected by the end
of the year.
. The North Wing will have offices
for Village Manager Larry Robbins
and Village Clerk Dolores Walker, a
conference room and a combination
council chambers and courtroom.
Mayor Lewis said the Village Hall
expansion is designed to take care of
the village's needs even when the maxi-
mum growth reaches 20,000 to 25,000
residents.
