EDUCATIONAL FELLOWSHIPS
The AAUW Fellowship Program was established to enable gifted
women to use their intellectual power for the good of humanity. The
AAUW Fellowship Program is the oldest non -university program of
fellowships in the United States. Its first award was made in 1888 and
since then more than 2000 women from over 70 countries have
received support both in the United States and abroad. Approxi-
mately, one million dollars is awarded yearly to outstanding women
for advanced study and research.

ABOUT A.A. U. W.
The American Association of University Women is the oldest and
largest organization for women in the United States. Founded in 1881
with over 190,000 members, A.A.U.W. is dedicated to the advance-
ment of women, promotion of lifelong learning, and implementation
of positive societal and community changes.
Locally, the North Palm Beach Branch is an active organization,
formed twenty eight years ago with a membership of one hundred
twenty and growing. Monthly general meetings are held on the third
Monday of each month at 8:00 P.M. with programs of current
interest. Most general meetings are held at the North Palm Beach
Library.
Special interest groups meet monthly on various topics, such as
International Relations, Women in Literature, Art At Tea Time, and.
Gourmet.
Interested women with degrees from accredited colleges and uni-
versities may either obtain activity or membership information from
Sue Slone at 626-0119 and Molly Cleare at 626-6725.
