Letter to AAUW Members from Anne Fitzpatrick 'Thelma Fund'North Palm Beach Branch
5913 Eagle's Nest Drive
Jupier, Florida 33458
Dear AAUW Member:
In the spring of 1985, the North Palm Beach Branch embarked on its most ambitious
undertaking to date when it established the Thelma Obert Research and Projects
Endowment. The Endowment is named for one of our branch founders, Thelma Obert.
Thelma is a great inspiration to all in our branch. She was the second president of our group
and has served on the board almost continuously since the branch founding in 1959. We
value her fresh and forward thinking, her steady support and above all her friendship. It
seemed only fitting that we should honor Thelma with an endowment named for her.
Thelma has made it a personal goal to see the endowment completely funded in her lifetime.

As you know, a Research and Projects Endowment must reach thirty-five thousand dollars
in fifteen years to become stipend bearing. We are asking your assistance in attaining this
goal. If you have undesignated funds to contribute to the Educational Foundations
Program, our branch and Thelma would greatly appreciate your earmarking them for the
Thelma Obert Research and Projects Endowment.
Thank you for your consideration. If you decide to contribute to "Thelma's Fund",p lease,
let us know.
Sincerely yours,
Anne E. Fitzpatrick
President
