A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM

BEACH, FLORIDA, CANCELLING THE GENERAL ELECTION SCHEDULED TO
BE HELD ON MARCH 9, 1982 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING MEMBERS
TO THF. VILLAGE COUNCIL TO FILL SUCH OFFICES IN GROUPS 1, 3 and
5.
WHEREAS, by Resolution 6-82 the Village Council declared
a general election to be held on March 9, 1982 for the purpose
of electing members to the Village Council to fill such offices
in Groups 1, 3 and 5 for a period of two years each; and
WHEREAS, the Village of North Palm Beach Code provides
that in the event not more than one person qualified as a
candidate for a designated seat on the Village Council to be
filled at an election, that seat shall not be listed on the
regular Village election ballot; and
WHEREAS, only one person has qualified as a candidate
in each of said Groups 1, 3 and 5:
Section 1. The general election declared to be held
on March 9, 1982 by Resolution No. 6-82 is hereby cancelled, and
each unopposed candidate for the offices of Village Councilman,
Groups 1, 3 and 5, shall be deemed to have voted for himself.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
