TO ERF,CT "NO STOPPING OR STANDING" SIGNS ALONG THE ENTIRE LF.NGI'}I OF
STATE ROAD N0. 703 IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH.
W}{EREAS, the State Department of Transportation has
;jurisdiction over the right-of-way of State Road 703, also known
as Highway A-1-A, in the Village of North Palm Beach; and
WHEREAS, said highway runs only through undeveloped
property in the Village of North Palm Beach where no buildings are
erected, no sanitary facilities are available, and no off-street
parking is provided; and
WHF,REAS, substantial traffic congestion arises when
vehicles are parked on the side of the highway and substantial
crimes and misdemeanors have been cormnitted in this undeveloped
area by persons who have parked along the side of the highway;
' and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of North Palm Beach
Uelieves that the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens
oi' North Palm Beach will be better protected by the erection of
"No Stopping or Standing" signs on that portion of State Road 703
which lies in the Village of North Palm Beach;
NOW, TF{ERF.FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF NORT}{ PALM BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section L The State Department of Transportation is
}~ereby requested to erect "No Stopping or Standing" signs along
State Road No. 703, also known as Highway A-1-A, from Burnt Rridge
to the municipal boundary of the City of Riviera Beach, and in
' particular through the entire section of that highway which lies
within the municipal boundaries of the Village of North Palm Beach
Section 2. The Village Manager and Director of Public
Services are directed to coordinate efforts with the State
llepartment oi' Transportation to create no parking along State
Road No. 703 Through the Village of North Palm Beach.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon passage.
