BILL N0. 825 "VOL,UNTARY STANDARDS AND ACCREDITATION ACT OF ].977"
' Wf[F,REAS, it is apparent that the proposed legislation will
create a vast and unnecessary new federal bureaucracy, and
WHF.RF.AS, the proposed legislation will inhibit private
citizen and business participation in voluntary standards work, and
Wf{ERF.AS, the proposed legislation will interfere wit}
state and local government actions on building codes and standards;
NOW, THERF,FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGF. COUNCIL OF
NORT}{ PALM BF,ACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the United States Senate is hereby
earnestly urged to deny passage of Senate Bill No. 825, "Voluntary
Standards and Accreditation Act of 1977."
Section 2. The Village Clerk is directed to forward
' copies of this Resolution to the United States Senate Subcommittee
on Antitrust and Monopoly and Senator Lawton Chiles, Senator
Richard Stone and Representative Paul Rogers.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect in~n~ediately
upon passage.
