Mayor Norris called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. All members of Council and staff were present.
All members of the Planning Commission were present except Jake Furlott and Benjamin Schreier.
CODE REVISIONS
Mr. Lukasik stated the meeting would focus primarily on the U.S. Highway 1 zoning districts.
Bill Spikowski of Spikowski Planning Associates reviewed certain items discussed at the January
Workshop, including changes to Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment; changes to the
Code draft regarding special exceptions and waivers; Appearance Plan revisions as to architectural
styles (to be continued in April Workshop); and a revised landscaping code, incorporating
Northlake Boulevard landscaping provisions (language to be reviewed at March Workshop).
Mr. Spikowski and Jason King of Dover Kohl & Partners presented these items for discussion:
Future buildings along U.S. Highway 1 and
regulating plans along U.S. Highway 1
Building heights along U.S. Highway 1
Mixed-use pattern vs. mixed-use building
Permitted uses along U.S. Highway 1
Density along U.S. Highway 1
Parking lots along U.S. Highway 1
PUBLIC COMMENT
Alleys behind U.S. Highway 1 parcels
Zoning Map changes needed
Land added to new C -MU zoning district
C-1 A land added to C -S district (formerly C-1)
C -G district (formerly C-2)
C -T district along Alternate AIA (formerly CC)
Members of the public addressed the Council with suggestions and concerns.
NEXT CODE UPDATE WORKSHOP ON MARCH 13, 2019
Mr. Lukasik stated that because Lake Park officials are invited to attend the March 13th Workshop,
the meeting location may be moved to another Village facility.
