A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEAC}f,
I'LORIDA, URGING VOTER SUPPORT ON NOVEMBER 5, 1974 FOR THE COUNTY BEACHES
AND PARKS ACQUISITION AND MAINTENANCE ISSUE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Village Council of North Palm Beach for many
years has consistently supported public ownership of all oceanfront land
in North Palm Beach as important for the ecological and recreational
needs of Village residents and others in Palm Beach County.
Section 2. Upon representations of Palm Beach County officials
that substantial funds from its Beaches and Parks Acquisition and Parks
Bond Issue will be directed toward public ownership of the oceanfront of
Nort}~ Palm Beach in conjunction with State and Federal funds, the Village
Council of North Palm Beach urges all voters in North Palm Beach and in
Palm Beach County to vote in favor of the County Bond Issue on November
5, 1974.
Section 3. The Village Council further expresses its support
of the aforesaid Beach and. Park Acquisition Bond. Issue in view of the
importance of public beaches to recreation in Palm Beach County and as an
aid to control dense oceanfront and lakefront high-rise construction along
one of the Village and. the County's most valuable asset - public access
to and use of the Atlantic Ocean beaches.
Section 4. The Village Clerk is hereby instructed to include
the sense of this Resolution in the next Village newsletter.
