1971-10 Opposing License Tax for Salt Water FishingRESOLUTION N0. 10-71
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PATIO{ BEACH,
FLORIDA, OPPOSING LICENSE TAX FOR SALT WATER FISHING.
' W}{EREAS, salt water fishing on the shores of Florida is one
of the few untaxed pleasures remaining for residents and tourists
alike; and

fishing will be a burden on the fishermen with no corresponding benefit
from the State, since ocean fish are in no way managed by State
agencies; and
WHEREAS, a salt water fishing license tax would fall
disproportionately on those who can least afford to pay additional
taxes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF NORTH PATS{ BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the members of the 1971 Florida Legis-
lature are hereby requested not to impose a license tax on salt water
fishing within the State of Florida.
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this Resolution to all members of the Palm Beach County
Delegation to the 1971 Florida Legislature.
