1970-478 Requesting that the Board of Public Instruction not Change the Attendance Boundaries for PBG High SchoolRESOLUTION N0. 478-70 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEAC}[, FLORIDA, RF,QUESTING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY NOT TO C}{ANGE THE BOUNDARIES OF ATTENDANCE FOR PALM BEAC}[ GARllF,NS }[IGH SCHOOL, BUT BEGIN IMMEDIATE PLANNING AND INITIATE ACTION SOON TO PROVIDE THE NEEDED ADDITIONAL FACILITIES FOR THE 1971-72 SCHOOL YEAR. W}[ERF,AS, all of the high school students from the Village of North Palm Beach are presently enrolled at Palm Beach Gardens }sigh School, and WHEREAS, the changing of boundaries in the middle of the school year would cause students to be shifted from one school to another, creating undue and unnecessary disruption to the education oi' these children, and W}iF.REAS, it is highly desirable for all students from the Village of North Palm Beach to attend one high school, and WI[FREAS, all other things being equal, single sessions wi_11 provide a higher level of educational instruction as compared to double sessions, and WHERF,AS, the Village Council, on behalf of the parents and citizens of North Palm Beach, are concerned with the quality of education provided for the children of North Palm Beach, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OP NOR17[ PALM BF,ACI{, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the Board of Public Instruction of Palm }]each County is hereby requested not to change the present boundaries of attendance for Palm Beach Gardens High School insofar as they ai'fect the Village of North Palm Beach. ' Section 2. That the Board of Public Instruction of Palm Beach County is hereby urged to immediately begin planning for the construction of additional facilities at Palm Beach Gardens High School to provide for single sessions for the anticipated student enroll- ment from the present attendance area for the 1971-72 school year, and to initiate action in the near future so that these facilities will be available at the start of the 71-72 school year. Section 3. That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to send certified copies of this resolution to each of the present and elected members of the Board of Public Instruction of Palm Beach County, the Superintendent of Public Instruction of Palm Beach County, and the Principal of Palm Beach Gardens High School.
