1970-438 Publish Notice of the General ElectionRESOLUTION NO. 438-70 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEAC}[, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE VILLAGE CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE, OF THE GENERAL ELECTION TO RE HELD ON MARCH 17, 1970; NAMING THE, TIME ANll PLACE WHERE. SUCH ELECTION SHALL BE HELD; APPOINTING THE ELECTION ' OFFICIALS FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION AND RUNOFF ELECTION; DECLARING 77[F, OFFICES TO BE FILLED AT SUCH ELECTION. W}IEREAS, the Charter of the Village provides for a general election to be held on the third Tuesday in March of each year; and W}{EREAS, there are three offices to be filled at the general election to be held in the Village on the third Tuesday in March, 1970; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEAC}{, FLORIDA: Section 1. That a general election shall be held, and ' is hereby declared to be held in the Village of North Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. on the 17th day of March, 1970, for the purpose of electing members to the Village Council to fill such offices in Groups 1, 3 and 5 for a period of two years each. Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to cause a notice of said election to be published in the Yalm Beach Post-Times once at least fifteen days prior to said election. Said notice shall be substantially in the following form: NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION MARCH 17, 1970 1'0 ALL QUALIFIED ELECTORS RESIDING IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM ' BEAC}{, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA: By order of the Village Council of the Village of North Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, notice is hereby given t}iat a general election will be held in said Village on the 17th day of March, 1970, for the purpose of electing Councilmen for the following offices, to-wit: Village Councilman, Group 1 (2-year term) Village Councilman, Group 3 (2-year term) ' Village Councilman, Group 5 (2-year term) Said election will be held in the Village of North Palm Beach, and the polling places are designated as Faith Lutheran Church, Precinct No. 48, North Palm Beach Elementary School, Precinct No. 49, and Elks Lodge No. 2069, Precinct No. 50 and Precinct No. 52, all in the Village of North Palm Beach. The polls will be open in the voting places from 7:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. The following inspectors and clerks have been designated and appointed by the Village Council for the purpose of conducting said election: Faith Lutheran Church, Precinct No. 48: Inspectors: Mrs. Esther Bricker Mrs. Grete McBride Mrs. Faye Lucas ' Mrs. Virginia Tracy Clerk: Mrs. Elizabeth Redding North Palm Beach Elementary School, Precinct No. 49: Inspectors: Mr. Ralph Cohn Mrs. Margaret Fick Mrs. Lillian Drudi Mrs. Barbara Manning Clerk: Mrs. Jane Jenkins Elks Lodge No. 2069, Precinct Nos. 50 and 52; Inspectors: Mrs. Ruth Brush Mrs. Zena Austin Mrs. Jean Ford Mrs. Millicent Walter Clerk; Mrs. Louise Nash The above officials have also been designated and appointed ' by the Village Council for the purpose of conducting the special runoff election to be held on the fourth Tuesday in March, 1970, if such becomes necessary. - 2 - The registration books will be open in the Village Clerk's office between the hours of 9;00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays only up to and including the 6th day of March, 1970, and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 1970, and from 7:00 p,m. to 9.00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 1970 and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 7, 1970. The Village Clerk, as registration officer of the Village, is hereby directed to prepare a list of the names of all qualified electors appearing on the registration books of the Village, and she shall keep the registration books open at her office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 2;00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays only up to and including the 6th day 1 of March, 1970, and firom 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 1ebruary 18, 1970, and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p,m. on Wednesday, March 4, 1970, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12;00 noon on Saturday, March 7, 1970. A certified list of such qualified electors shall be i'urnished by the Village Clerk to the inspectors and clerks in charge of the polling places on the day of the election. Section 4.
