}'I,ORI1lA, CALLING AND ORDERING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER
16, 1969 TO VOTE ON PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER OF THF. VILLAGE OF
NORTI[ PALM BEACI[.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORT}{ PALM BEAC}[,

Section 1. A special election be, and the same is hereby,
called acid ordered to be held in and for the Village of North Palm
Beach from 7:00 o'clock A.M. to 7:00 o'clock P.M. on the 16th day of
September, 1969 for the purpose of submitting to the registered and
qualified electors residing in said Village the following proposition:

1969 FLORIDA LEGISLATURE AUTHORIZING THE
VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH TO ACQUIRE BY
CONDEMNATION THE WATER AND SEWER FACILITIES
OF NORTH PALM BEACH UTILITIES, INC., ITS
SLICCF.SSORS AND ASSIGNS, BOTH WITHIN AND
WITHOUT T{{E VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH?
Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to cause a notice of said election to be published in the Palm Beach
Post-Times once at least thirty days prior to said election, but not
more than sixty days prior to said election, and further, to post such
notice in three public, conspicuous places in the Village, one of which
shall be the bulletin board at the Village Hall, stating in such notice
the date and proposition for which the special election is to be held.
Said notice shall be substantially in the following form:

By order of the Village Council of the Village of North
Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, notice is hereby given that

Said election will be held in the Village of North Palm Beach, and
the polling places are designated as Faith Lutheran Church, Precinct
No. X18, and North Palm Beach Elementary School, Precinct No. 49, both
in the Village of North Palm Beach. The polls will be open in the
voting places from 7:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. The following inspectors
and clerks have been designated and appointed by the Village Council
for the purpose of conducting said election:

The registration books will be open in the Village Clerk's
oi'fice between the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and 2;00 P.M. to
4:30 P.M. on week days only up to and including the 15th day of August,
1969, and from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 16, ].969,
and from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, the 29th day of July,
1969 and from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, the 5th day of August,
1969.

Section 3. The Village Clerk, as registration officer of
t}ce Village, is hereby directed to prepare a list of the names of
all qualified electors appearing on the registration books of the
Village, and she shall keep the registration books open at her office

between the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and from 2;00 P.M. to
X1:30 P.M. on week days only up to and including the 15th day of August,
1969, and from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 16, 1969,
' and from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, the 29th day of July,
1969 and from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, the 5th day of August,
1969. A certified list of such qualified electors shall be furnished
by the Village Clerk to the inspectors and clerks in charge of the
polling places on the day of the election.
Section 4. The inspectors and clerks of said special
election to be held on September 16, 1969, are hereby appointed as
follows:

Said officers are hereby directed to hold said election in accordance
with the ].aw and in such manner as to prevent all fraud, deceit and
abuse therein or thereto and to make the returns of said election in
the manner prescribed by law.
Section 5. The issue to be voted upon at the special election
of September 16, 1969 shall be as follows:

Section 6. The Village Clerk and election officials are
hereby directed to arrange for the use of voting machines at said
special election, and the form of the ballot shall be such as is
consistent with the use of voting machines. Absentee ballots shall
be prepared by the Village Clerk in form consistent with existing
Village ordinances.
Section 7. Immediately after the closing o£. the polls
on the said election day, the inspectors and clerks shall certify the
returns thereof to the Village Council and the Village Council shall
hold a meeting on the 17th day of September, 1969 for the purpose of
canvassing the returns and declaring the results of said election.
