A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH,
}'hORIllA, APPROVING TI[F. PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT OF STATE ROAD 5, FROM
NORT}[ LAKF; BOULEVARD TO INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY, NORTH PALM BEACH, PALM
};};AC}I COUNTY, FLORIDA
WIIF,RF.AS, the 1962 Federal-Aid }iighway Act requires all
Urban areas over 50,000 population to establish a comprehensive, continu-
ing, and cooperative transportation planning program with their State
1[ighway Department in order to be eligible for Federal grants for highway
improvements after July 1, 1965; and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Bureau of Public Roads by Instructional
Memorandum 50-2-65, dated April 28, 1965, Paragraph B.S., requires that.
al.l Pederal-Aid Projects in the Urban area be accepted by the governing
bodies of the local jurisdictions affected in areas which have not
progressed through the transportation system analysis phase; and
' WHEREAS, the proposed improvement of State Road 5, from North
Lake Boulevard to Intracoastal Waterway in North Palm Beach is a necessary
project and is compatible with the anticipated land use and conforms with
the long-range traffic and transportation plan for the area; and
WHEREAS, the State Road Department of Florida requests that the
Village of North Palm Beach by this resolution, dated the 8th day of
October, 1968, endorse the proposed improvement of State Road 5.
NOW, 77IEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH
PALM BEAC}[, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The proposed improvement of State Road 5 from North
hake Boulevard to the Intracoastal Waterway, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach
County, Florida, is hereby approved.
