' A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
DESIGNATING LAW DAY U.S.A. AS A DAY GN WHICH STUDENTS WHO RESIDE IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH
PALM HEACH SHALL PARTICIPATE IN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE VILLAGE BY ASSUMING THE POLES OF
VARIOUS ELECTED AND APPOINTIVE VILLAGE OFFICIALS FOR THE PURPOSES OF ACQUIRING GREATER CIVIC -
' AWARENESS OF THEIR MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLEIGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM HEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1, Aa part of its celebration of Law Day U.S,A., the Village of North Palm
Beach, Florida, invites students residing within the corporate limits of the Village of North
Palm Beach to participate in the Village Government by assuming some o£ the duties and respon-
sibilities of the elected and certain appointive Village officials in order to acquaint students
frith the Village Government and with the inportance that the laws and law-making procedures of
North Palm Beach have in the lives of its citizens.
' Section 2. The Village Manager shall propose to the Village Council a suitable
method of selecting the students and a suitable agenda for those students who are selected to
participate in the Village Government. This program should be coordinated with those schools
which are attended by residents of the Village of North Palm Beach at the High School and -_
Junior High School level, and the en Lire proceedings shall be conducted with a view toward
awakening civic interest and responsibility in the future voters and responsible officials of __
North Palm Beach.
Section 3. Since a similar experiment took place during the recent Tencennial
• clelbration of the Village of North Palm Beach during the year 1967, this student government
participation shall take effect beginning in the year 1968 and shall continue thereafter at the
pleasure of Village Councils to come.
