ROLL CALL
Mayor Norris called the Public Hearing to order at 5:30 p.m. All members of Council
were present. All members of staff were present except Village Attorney George
Baldwin.
STATEMENT O_ F PERCENTAG_ E INCREASE IN MILEAGE OVER THE ROLLED-BACK
RATE
Mayor Norris announced that the proposed millage is 5.6000, which is 3.1% more than
the roll-back figure ofi 5.4311. This year's millage rate of 5.6000 is 3.7% more than last
year's millage rate of 5.4.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Manny Grinn, 536 Greenway Drive, presented a list of discrepancies between the budget
handout distributed at the prior Council meeting and the final budget. Mr. Grinn also
noted several typographical errors, which he felt should be corrected in the finished
product.
RESOLUTION 39-98 ADOPTED
Councilman Tringali moved that Resolution 39-98 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, LEVYING A TAX ON REAL AND
PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS
• OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH ON JANUARY 1, 1998,
FIXING THE TOTAL VALUATION THEREON AND THE TAX MILEAGE

held Tuesday, September 22, 1998
RATE THEREON FOR SAID TAX YEAR; AND REPEALING ALL
RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT WITH THIS RESOLUTION
be adopted. Councilman Vastola seconded the motion, and all present voted aye.
BILL 927 -BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998-99 -PLACED ON SEC_ O_ ND READING
AND ENACTED AS ORDINANCE 21-98
Vice Mayor O'Meilia moved that Bill 927 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
ADOPTING BUDGETS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OCTOBER 1, 1998 TO
SEPTEMBER 30, 1999, BOTH INCLUSIVE, FOR THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH GENERAL FUND, INCLUDING DEBT
RETIREMENT, AND FOR THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB
REVENUE FUND; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
WITH THIS ORDINANCE
• be placed on second reading and read by title alone. Councilman Vastola seconded the
motion, and all present voted aye.
Vice Mayor O'Meilia moved that Bill 927 be enacted as Ordinance 21-98. Councilman
Tringali seconded the motion, and all present voted aye.
AMENDMENT TO MILEAGE RESOLUTION
Vice Mayor O'Meilia moved to change the language in Section 4. of Resolution 39-98
by changing the words "property taxes" to "millage rate". President Pro Tem Eissey
seconded the motion, and all present voted aye.
ADJOURNMENT _
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at
6:15 p.m.
