PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear the public concerning the proposed 1997-
98 operating budget, including the North Palm Beach Country Club.
Prior to hearing statements from the Public, Mayor Vastola announced the proposed
millage rate of 5.4000, and stated it to be 7.6% more than the rollback rate figure of
5.0189. She stated further that this year's millage rate of 5.4000 is 6.7% more than last
year's millage rate of 5.0600.

RESOLUTION 57-97 ADOPTED -SETTING MILEAGE RATE
Councilman Norris moved that Resolution 57-97 entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, LEVYING A TAX ON REAL AND
• PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS
OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH ON JANUARY 1, 1997,

FIXING THE TOTAL VALUATION THEREON AND THE. TAX MILEAGE
RATE THEREON FOR SAID TAX YEAR; AND REPEALING ALL
RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT WITH THIS RESOLUTION
be adopted. President Pro Tem Kelley seconded the motion, and all present voted aye.
BILL 898 -ADOPTING BUDGETS FOR FY 1997-98 -PLACED ON SECOND READING
AND ENACTED AS ORD. 40-97
Vice Mayor O'Meilia moved that Bill 898 entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA,
ADOPTING BUDGETS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OCTOBER 1, 1997 TO
SEPTEMBER 30, 1998, BOTH INCLUSIVE, FOR THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH GENERAL FUND, INCLUDING DEBT
RETIREMENT, AND FOR THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY CLUB
REVENUE FUND; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
WITH THIS ORDINANCE
be placed on second reading and read by title alone. Councilman Valente seconded the
motion, and all present voted aye.
Vice Mayor O'Meilia moved that Bill 898 be enacted as Ordinance 40-97. Councilman
Valente seconded the motion, and all present voted aye.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting adjourned at
7:15 p.m.
