Charles O'Meilia, Councilman

ROLL CALL
Mayor Valente called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 p.m. All members of Council
were present. All members of staff were present.
PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear comments from the Public concerning
proposed millage rate and operating budget for Fiscal Year 1995-96.
STATEMENT OF MILEAGE RATE
Mayor Valente announced that the proposed millage rate is 5.1 mills, an overall decrease
of 2.86%, with a 1.54% decrease in millage over the rolled-back rate.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Manny Grinn, 536 Greenway Drive, addressed the Council regarding the proposed
budget, which he feels will put the Village into millions of dollars of debt. He further
stated that this particular millage rate would, in future years, just be the baseline, and that
all future millage rates will have to go up just to cover all that debt.
Leonard Pellegren, 765 Westwind Drive, asked the Council for a salary increase for one
of the co-pro's at the Country Club. He told the Council that the pro, Mr. Webber, was
not considered for a pay raise, even though he has been doing the job longer than the
other two pro's, and that he currently is scheduled fora 3% raise, while the other two
pro's will be getting a 27% increase.
