VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA

Mayor Valente called the Special Meeting to order at 8:19 p.m. ROLL CALL
All members of the Council were present. The Village Manager was
present.
The Special Meeting was held for the purpose of having the PURPOSE OF
Village Council determine the terms and conditions for the PBA SPECIAL MEETING
union members as Village employees for the fiscal year 1987-88.
Councilman Mundt made the following motion: MOTICN RE TERMS
& CONDITIONS
The first step of the PSO step plan is increased by 3~. FOR PBA UNION
MEMBERS AS
Officers who received a performance review less than VILLAGE
satisfactory receive a COLA allowance of 3.8~ ETtPLOYEES
FOR FISCAL YEAR
Officers who received a satisfactory performance review move 87-88 PASSED
up one grade on the step plan, which is a 5~ increase plus a 5-0

1$ additional merit increase, for a total of 6~.
Officers who received an excellent performance review will _-
move up one step on the step plan, plus a 2~ merit
increase, for a total of 7~.
Officers who received an outstanding performance review will
move up one step on the step plan, plus a 3~ merit increase, `
fora total of 8$.
An officer who had reached his cap in the range of his pay
grade will receive the same increases as he would otherwise
be entitled by his performance evaluation; therefore,
a capped-out officer would receive a 5~ increase for a
satisfactory review, plus 1~ additional merit increase, for
a total of 6~.
An officer who received an excellent performance review will
move up one step on the step plan, plus a 2~ merit increase,
for a total of 7~.
An officer who received an outstanding performance review
will move up one step on the step plan, plus a 3~ merit
' increase, for a total of 8~.
Detectives would receive a 5g differential for being in the
Detective Bureau. Officers who become members of the
Detective Bureau will receive a 5$ additional pay
differential above the comparable level PSO salary range.
An officer who acts as afield training officer will receive
a 5~ additional pay differential during the period he is
acting in that capacity.

An officer who has served less than 12 months prior to the
beginning of a new fiscal year will receive adjusted pro
rata increases based on the proportion of his work time
' during the prior fiscal year.
The dispatchers' salaries will be increased 5~, and all
dispatchers who receive a satisfactory performance review
will move up one step on the step plan.
All dispatchers' salaries on the step plan are increased
5~. A dispatcher who has received a satisfactory or higher
performance review moves up to the next step (which is a S$
increase), plus a satisfactory review will include a 1~
merit payment; an excellent review will include a 2$ merit
payment; and an outstanding review will include a 3$ merit
payment.
The motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Marks and passed
unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the AA70URNMENT
meeting was adjourned at 8:32 p.m.
