Mayor Valente called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL
All members of the Council were present. All members of the
staff were present except the Village Attorney.
The purpose of the Public Hearing is to hear the continents of the PURPOSE OF
public concerning the issuance of a permit to the Department of PUBLIC HEARING
Natural Resources for dredging and filling at John D. MacArthur
Beach State Park.
Mr. W. H. Brown, Village's representative on the Conservation COMMENTS FROM
Board of Directors, said he hoped there would be no reason to not PUBLIC
grant this permit. The area to be filled is some old mosquito
ditches. Nothing natural remains, it has all been dug up. He
stated this is the last permit we need to get started, finally,
and he hoped there was no problem in issuing the permit.
Councilman Mundt asked Lew Scruggs if he has received all the
authorizations formally from other agencies concerning this
permit. Mr. Scruggs said he brought copies of everythinbg except
for one permit which is in hand and he needs to take to
Tallahassee to be copied. The Army Corps of Engineers permit is
being issued at this time; it has been in word processing for the
last two weeks. It will be in Mr. O'Meilia's hands by the time
the Council votes on this matter at their September 10, 1987
regular session.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the
Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
