Mayor. Marks called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL
All members of the Council were present.
The purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear the comrents of PURPOSE OF
the public concerning the proposed 1981-82 operating budget, PUBLIC HEARING
including Federal Revenue Sharing Funds.
Legal notice of this Public Hearing was published in The Post LEGAL NOTICE
on October 5, 1981 and was posted according to law. OF PUBLIC HEARING
Councilwoman Nolan stated that the Council is considering a C]TS FRCM
decrease of $100,000 from the present operating budget. This COUNCIL
would be a decrease of .268 mills.
President Pro Tem Brain stated we should note that we are one
of the few municipalities that are considerably below the
rollback millage.
Counci7~. Moore stated that when Council gets into the
regular session this evening he would like to present
different th;ngs to the Council which would reduce the
budget by over one-half million dollars.
Mayor Marks stated that if we do take out $100,000 of the
$200,000 appropriated for the Delacorte Comrnmity Center
without doing anything else, we will have only about a
13.5°G increase. lie thanked the Council for all the hard
work and the effort put forth during the budget workshop
sessions.
Mr. Dan Wolf, 134 Lakeshore Drive, sttiggested that the Council COMMENTS FR~I
reduce the operating budget a flat five percent right across THE PUBLIC
the board.
Mr. Ed Ashton, 630 Pilot Road, suggested that the Council
reduce the operating budget by ten percent.
There being no further business to cow before the Coimci_l, ADJOURN~~'tENT
the Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
