Mayor Marks called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL
A11 members of the Council were present except Councilwommi
Nolan. who arrived at 7:11 p.m.
The purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear the comments of PURPOSE OF
the public conceminv the proposed 1980-81 operatis~v, budget. PUBLIC HEAR.IlVG
Legal notice of this Public Hearing was published in The LEGAL NOTICE OF
Post an October 13, 1980 and posted according to law. PUBLIC HEARING
Mr. Charles Lewis, 120 Lakeshore Drive, stated that COMNNIENTS FROM
according to today's newspaper there would be a windfall PUBLIC AND COUNCIL
(in ad valorem taxes) for the Village i£ they did not
cut the budget. Mayor Marks informed Mr. Lewis that
this afternoon the judge had a hearing on this (the
non-acceptance of the Palm Beach Cotmty Property
' Appraiser`s tax roll by the State) and ii.Zat there i.s
no change in status at this point. He told him that
the Village Council is planning to pass the budget can-
sideris~g that there will be the $10,000 additional home-
stead exemption for persons who have lived here for five
years or longer and that there will be no change. The
Mayor infora~d Mr. Lewis that if there is a windfall,
there will be a rebate (to the property owners.)
Mr. John LaCerda, 130 Yacht Clvb Drive, asked if the
proposed $695,000 bond issue was put out to bid. The
Finance Director told Mr. LaCerda that it was not and ex-
plained the reasons why.
Vice Mayor Moore posed several questions concen~ing in-
accuracies in the proposed Village and North Palm Beach
Country C1vb budgets for the fiscal year 1980-81. These
questions were answered by the Finance Director and the
Village Manager.

the Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
