BOATS AND RVS
Based on the input received from Council at its April 28, 2016 Special Workshop Session,
Community Development Director Denise Malone reviewed modified code language regarding
the parking of recreational, boating, and camping equipment on residential properties.
Council discussed the proposed revisions regarding boats and boat trailers and requested changes
in these code sections:
Sec. 18 -33 Definitions
Definition of boat in Section 327.02(43), Florida Statutes is too broad.
Consensus to use language similar to Town of Lake Park's definition of boat.
Mr. Rubin will modify Lake Park's definition of boat.
Sec. 18 -35(1)
Maximum of two pieces of equipment
Two personal watercraft (PWC) on one trailer are counted as one piece of
equipment; can three PWC on one trailer be counted as one piece of equipment?
Consensus to leave at two PWC on one trailer counted as one piece of equipment.
Sec. 18 -35(3)
Location of equipment
Access to the rear yard can't be blocked by equipment
Consensus to clarify that one person should be able to access the rear yard at any time.
Mr. Rubin will revise the language
