A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF
NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PERSONAL DOCK AND BOAT LIFT AT
719 NORTHLAKE BOULEVARD WITHIN THE NORTHLAKE BOULEVARD
OVERLAY ZONING DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village received an application for conditional use approval from Charles A. Miles, Jr.
for the construction of a personal dock and boat lift to the rear of the property located at
719 Northlake Boulevard within the Northlake Boulevard Overlay Zoning District; and
WHEREAS, Section 45 -35.3 of the Village Code, setting forth the NBOZ regulations, requires
conditional use review for private mooring facilities located within the NBOZ; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council determines that the application meets each of the requirements
for conditional use approval set forth in Section 4 -1(A) of the NBOZ regulations and therefore
wishes to grant the application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF NORTH PALM
BEACH, FLORIDA as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are ratified as true and are incorporated herein.
Section 2. The Village Council hereby approves a conditional use for the installation of a
personal dock measuring four (4) feet by thirty (30) feet and a boat lift to the rear of the property
located at 719 Northlake Boulevard. The boat lift and dock shall be constructed in accordance
with the plans dated December 2, 2015 prepared by A.T. Designs, Inc., consisting of four (4) sheets.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

SCOPE OF WORK:
1. Contractor shall be responsible for providing material, equipment and labor to construct a 4' wide by 30' finger pier, with a 10K vertical boat lifts, ( separate permits & engineering).
2. All work associated with the construction, shall be in accordance with the permitted plans & specifications.
3. All work shall proceed continuously from initiation of construction to completion, with exception to weather, material deliveries & shortages, inspections,
contractors scheduling.
4. All construction activities shall be in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, codes, and permit conditions.
5. Contractor shall ensure that standard and special conditions called out in the permitted plans shall be adhered too.
6. Nothing contained in the construction drawings shall alleviate the contractor from using due care and diligence.
7. The contractor shall not deviate from acceptable construction techniques in the performance of the work.
GENERAL NOTES AND SPECIFICATIONS:
1. The work specified herein has been designed & all work shall be in accordance with the 2010 Florida Building Code. All codes reverenced herein are per the latest adopted edition.
Design forces per ASCE 7 - 10 using V = 160 mph exposure D. Design Live Load = 75 psf; Dead Load = 10 psf.
Typical field conditions are assumed in the design. Should any specific location differ from that specified herein, or standard field conditions, additional specific engineering may be
required as determined by the building official and the permitting contractor.
2. Pilings shall be southern pine meeting the applicable provisions of ASTM D 25, " Standard Specifications For Round Timber Pilings ".
3. All pilings shall be 10" in diameter minimum, and shall be pressure treated including Standard C 1 & supplement C 3 and AWPA Standard C 18. All piles shall bear the mark of of an
approved agency certifying conformance with the Quality Control Standards For Marine Piles Of The American Wood Preservers Bureau.
4. All new pilings shall be installed a minimum of 7' penetration. Minimum bearing shall be 20,000 LB ( 10 tons )
5. Piles shall be set with a high pressure water jet, or other procedures or methods, and shall be determined by the contractor & engineer
6. Piles maybe wrapped with vinyl pile shield to protect piles from insect damage.
7. All dimension lumber shall be structural grade # 1 southern yellow pine meeting applicable requirements of the Southern Pine Inspection Bureau (SPIB).
8, All dimension lumber shall be pressure impregnated ( P T ) by an approved process ( ACQ 0.40 pressure treated ) preservative in accordance with the applicable
Provisions Of The Building Code And American Wood Preservers ASSN (AWPA) " Book Of Standards ".
9. Any addtional wood framing shall be # 1 grade .40 cca 2" x 10" dense stringers and .40 acq 2" x 8" bents, 16" on center max.
10. Decking shall be 1" x 6" composite decking, fastened with 2 - 2.5 " stainless steel ( s.s. ) 2 screws per stringer.
11. Any addtional bolts shall be 1/2" stainless steel thru bolts with a 1/2" stainless steel nut & washer, and shall meet the requirements of ASTM A 307.
12. All other fasteners shall be either HDG or s.s. as specified.
Engineer seal affixed hereto validates structural design as shown only. Use of this specification by contractor,
indemnifies & saves harmless this engineer for all costs & damages including legal fees & appellate fees
resulting from material fabrication, system erection,& construction practices beyond that which is called for
by local, state, & federal codes & from deviations of this plan. Except as expressly
provided in herein, no additional certifications or affirmations are intended.
