VILLAGE MANAGER
Village Manager Jim Kelly
Dear Residents,
As referenced in my September and October newsletter
messages, we have much work ahead of us this fiscal year
(10/1/15 –9/30/16). In order to be successful in these new ventures,
we must have resident and business owner input. Therefore, it is
essential that you be given multiple opportunities to share your
visions, opinions, concerns and desires with us.
From a preliminary standpoint, the Treasure Coast Regional
Planning Council (working on the Master Plan for the Village) and
Peacock & Lewis (working on the Community Resort and
Clubhouse at the NPB Country Club) are researching the history,
current status, economic data, and administrative records
associated with our Village.
In October, interviews were held with various volunteer advisory
boards; business owners; realtors; Village staff; golf, restaurant/
banquet, tennis and pool user groups; and other residents who
signed up at various Village functions.
On November 6th and 7th, you are welcome to attend an open forum that will be held for Village
residents and business owners (the location will be announced on our website) Additionally, the
Village has established a new website (www.village-npb.org) to keep you informed regarding the
factual status of the Master Plan and Community Resort and Clubhouse Projects. We hope the
website will provide a venue for all stakeholders to keep abreast of what is truly occurring in
the Village (fact vs. rumor), such as scheduled meetings, charettes, workshops and the stages of
our progress. If you experience any difficulty in accessing the website, please contact Joanna
Cunningham at (561)-904-2122.
On a personal note, as I look forward to my family gathering together for Thanksgiving, it seems
like just yesterday that Vicki and I, with our infant children, would go to grandma and grandpa’s
house for dinner. As our children got older (probably out of diapers), we hosted Thanksgiving
dinner for our parents, our children, and later their spouses and our infant grandchildren. This
year, our son Jimmy (Only Grandma, Vicki and I are allowed to call him that!) and his lovely wife
Katie are hosting Thanksgiving dinner (you guessed it, all four grandchildren are out of diapers!).
One of the greatest satisfactions as a parent is when you see your children embracing your
family traditions as they raise their children. No matter how hectic life gets, family is the one
constant in our lives.
Lastly, let me express a heartfelt thanks to you the residents, the Village Council, all employees,
and volunteers for the dedicated efforts and service you provide to ensure our Village truly is
“The Best Place to Live Under the Sun”. You all make it happen, and I am so grateful to have you
as partners as we enter this new fiscal year with its many challenges and exciting possibilities.
Sincerely,
Jim Kelly

TRASH TALK
One of the traditions
in NPB is to have side
door pick-up of trash on
Mondays, Wednesdays,
& Fridays. Some residents are
unnecessarily placing trash out front.
Please leave your trash on the side in
a trash can, or if you just have one bag
of trash, leave the bag on the side of
your house, and we will pick it up for
you. Thank You.
P.S. Bulk Items and Vegetation should
be placed on the swale out front.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
We’re only weeks away from sending Holiday “Care Pack-
ages” to soldiers.
Here are the ways you can make a difference and show
your support:
Make a monetary donation; no amount is too small. We
especially need donations to help pay shipping costs.
Postage for our last holiday shipment was over $3,000!
Deliver your tax-exempt contribution to the Clerk’s office or
mail to Support Our Troops USA, Inc. P.O. Box 14211, NPB FL
33408.
Write cards and letters encouraging our servicemen and servicewomen. Each
care package we send contains cards and letters – the items most cherished by our
soldiers.
Donate items we send. We particularly need new CD’s or DVD’s, holiday
decorations, and individually wrapped snacks like crackers, cookies, protein bars,
etc. Due to postal deadlines, we need your donations delivered to the Clerk’s Office
by November 6th.
Volunteer to help at our donation drive. The next donation drive is Saturday
November 7, 10 am – 3 pm at the Dollar Tree store in Tequesta. If you can help
please call Bob Gebbia at 561-351-8459.

SCHOOL NEWS
Please join us for the
third annual Veterans
Day Ceremony at Veterans
Memorial Park, located
adjacent to the Village
Library. The Ceremony
will be on Veterans Day,
November 11th, at 9am.
Mayor and Council,
along with the Village
Manger, Department Heads and employees will
be in attendance.
Boy Scout Troop 155 will again offer there assistance in recognizing all veterans. The Red
Cross will provide water through a Veterans Grant, and our own Village Honor Guard will
present the Flags and Colors. Village Chaplain Father Emmanuel will provide the invocation
again this year.
Our Keynote speaker this year is decorated veteran SSGT Brian Mast. The Village is
honored to have such a decorated veteran as this year’s Keynote Speaker on Veterans Day.
Brian served in the Army for 12 years. Brian's service also included the honor of serving
under the elite Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) as a bomb disposal expert.
While on his last deployment in Afghanistan, Mast was tasked with protecting his brothers
from IED's on a nightly basis. While he was able to detect and destroy most of these IED's,
the very last IED Mast found resulted in him sustaining catastrophic injuries, which includ-
ed the loss of both his legs. As a result of his service and sacrifice to our country, Mast was
been awarded medals for Valor, Merit, and Sacrifice, to include The Bronze Star Medal,
The Army Commendation Medal for Valor, The Purple Heart Medal, and The Defense Merito-
rious Service Medal.
Please join us in honoring all of our veterans!
