HELD
THURSDAY, MARCH 25, 1976
Present: Ronald L. Heraty, Mayor

Mayor Love called the Regular Meeting to order at 8:03 ROLL CALL
p.m. All members of .the Council were present.
Councilman Marks gave the invocation and Vice Mayor INVOCATION &
Heraty led the Council and the public in the pledge of PLEDGE OF
allegiance to the flag. ALLEGIANCE
The organization of the Council is required by the COUNCIL
Village Charter to be done at the next regular meeting ORGANIZATION
of the Council following the election of any Councilman.
Therefore, Council proceeded-with its organization in
accordance with Article III, Section 6, of the Village
Charter.
Councilman Marks moved that Mervin H. Mclntyre_be nomin- MOTION DIED
aced for the office of Mayor of the Village of North FOR LACK OF
Palm Beach. The motion died for lack of a second. A SECOND-

The motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Heraty and all VICE MAYOR
present voted aye.
Councilman McIntyre moved that V. A. Marks be nominated
for the office of President Pro Tem. The motion was
seconded by Vice Mayor Heraty and. passed 4 to 1, with
Mayor Love opposed.
Council then instructed the Village Clerk to place the
names of Ronald L. Heraty as Mayor; Mervin H. McIntyre
as Vice Mayor; and V. A. Marks as President Fro Tem on
proposed Resolution No. 15-76.

Mayor Love turned the gavel over to the new Mayor,
Ronald L. Heraty.
The Village Clerk then administered the Oath of Office OATHS OF
to Mayor Heraty, Vice Mayor McIntyre and President Pro OFFICE

On motion of Councilman Marks, seconded by Councilman APPROVAL OF

as written.
On motion of Vice Mayor McIntyre; seconded by Council- ACCEPTANCE OF

ANTICIPATED REVENUE AT THE NORTH PALM BEACH COUNTRY
CLUB AND BY APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR A SECRETARY AND A

Vice Mayor McIntyre moved that Bill No. 241 be adopted as MOTION TO
Ordinance No. 4-76. The motion was seconded by Councilman ADOPT BILL

Councilman Marks moved to amend Bill No. 241 as follows: MOTION DIED
That a secretary only be hired at the country club at FOR LACK OF

Vice Mayor McIntyre moved that $975 be expended from APPROVAL TO
Account No. OS-500 and used to replace a 125 hp engine EXPEND $975
for the Public Safety patrol boat. The motion was FROM OS-500

Councilman Marks moved that the proposed improvements -MOTION ON

seconded by Vice Mayor McIntyre and failed 4 to 1, BEING WORK-
with Mayor Heraty, Vice Mayor McIntyre, Councilman SHOPPED FAILED
Love and Councilman Moore opposed.
Councilman Love moved that we accept and approve the _, DRAWING FOR
drawing showing proposed improvements for parking PARKING LOT
facilities at the North Palm Beach Country Cluh. The FACILITIES
motion was seconded by Councilman Moore all present APPROVED
voted aye. Councilman Marks instructed the Clerk
to state in these minutes that he voted aye although
he is not for it.
On motion of Councilman Marks, seconded by Vice Mayor REGULAR SESSIONS
McIntyre, all present voting aye, that we establish TO BEGIN AT
7:30 p.m. as the time to begin regular sessions of 7:30 P.M.
the Village Council (effective April 8, 1976).
On motion of Councilman Love, seconded by Councilman VILLAGE GOLF
Moore, all present voting aye, that we continue the TOURNAMENT
Village Golf Tournament, sponsor it and charge the
same rates as in the past to be expended from Account
' No. 16-260.
There being no further business to come before the Council, ADJOURNMENT
on motion of Councilman Marks, seconded by Vice Mayor
McIntyre, all present voting aye, the meeting_was adjourned
at 9:25 p.m.
